Hills might not be as exciting as mountains, but I love the gentle undulation you get from typical English countryside scenes like this.
This particular hillside view was photographed at the National Trust Winkworth Arboretum, taken from one of the view points.
There are many things I like about this shot. The trees at the bottom frame the image and they lead the eye through to the horizon where you see the three birds in flight.
When your eye settles again you notice how the light changes across the hills – we can see this due to the compression that you get with the telephoto nature of the shot.
